Last week, i was having a chat with a guy who’s been married for a few years. He works on the island and lives on the mainland (meaning he spends most of his active time at work) and our “gist” centered around the implication(s) of friendships with single ladies at the same workplace. He seemed to have his own strong opinion backed by his stance on having undue closeness with those ladies. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s been a long while i wrote an article, but it’s been so much in my mind to write one. I came back from a short but refreshing vacation over two weeks ago. By the time i came back, i was energized and ready to face the next phase with renewed energy. During my vacation, i met, and chatted with different people (i went with a group of friends and business associates); some of the people i spent time with, i only knew from a distance before then. It was a time of relaxation; bonding and making fresh acquaintances live on the Maldives Islands, an exotic island consisting of 1,190 small islands in the heart of the Indian ocean. We had an exciting time. Check out the pictures in my facebook album. Read the rest of this entry »

A few weeks ago, i overheard a neighbor of mine talking with my hubby outside the house when he went to pick something from the car. Their discussion seemed to have lingered for so long that i wondered if he remembered that we were running late for service; after some time i had to go out dressed to say hi to the neighbor so my hubby could see he was the one delaying us; and sure, he got the message

It’s indeed been a while. I can’t begin to state the things that have been my major preoccupation of late, but in all, God has given me grace and capacity to handle them all. Today, i’ll talk to the ladies, because i’ve come to discover that they’re the more influential gender than the men, right? Read the rest of this entry »

I’m sure it’s no news that i lost someone really dear to me; someone who treated me like i came from her loins, a mother to me. I lost my mother-in-law but heaven gained her. She was simply an enigma, someone who impacted lives, who lived fully and gave selflessly. Read the rest of this entry »

2 days ago, i was privileged to speak at the popular New Estate Baptist Church; it was their Parents/Teens forum. Prior to then, the week before, two women, much older than I am, who were representatives of the church came to meet me in the office on the recommendation of a mentor, to invite me to speak in their church. They waited at the reception for me for a little while i went to meet with them a short while after which i went to meet with them. When i greeted them, they responded and appeared to want to hear that i was the PA to “Tope Akinyemi”. When i told them i was the one, they expressed serious surprise. They said they never expected someone that young. Read the rest of this entry »
